Complete with the original wheel, grindstone, gears and mill race Lindsaig Mill Holiday Cottage Scotland is located down a short private drive occupying an extremely peaceful spot near the eastern shore of the wonderful Loch Fyne.

Here in the West Highlands, the interweaving of sea and land is intimate, a marriage of water and earth. Thus the the western Scottish woodland can truly claim to the title of temperate rainforests. The sea makes its presence felt in a mildness of the climate too, bringing warmth from middle latitudes up to these coasts.

Nestled in the village of Kilfinan Lindsaig Mill is set over two bright and airy levels and brimming with character. It has been renovated and upgraded to a high standard in recent times and occupies a prominent position with wonderful south-facing views of the gorgeous rolling countryside down to Loch Fyne and beyond.

The property comprises open plan living with a log burning stove and balcony to enjoy the most enviable of vistas. The retained mill features and exposed stone further add to the rustic charm whilst the impressive gardens offer ample space for outdoor entertaining, dining al-fresco, children and / or pets to play in complete safety or just to soak up the surroundings.

It is kept lovely and cosy by its wood-burning stove with a wonderful view and outside balcony to make the most of the view. There is a wealth of wildlife in the area and binoculars are certainly recommended.

From the main floor and through the panoramic view sliding door there is a balcony area that looks out over the garden to the loch beyond.

The master bedroom on the upper floor has a super king size bed and its own en suite shower room. Downstairs are two further bedrooms, with the second bedroom having a king size bed and it's own en suite shower and sink. The family bathroom supports the third bedroom with a small double bed.

Plenty of parking (for up to four vehicles) is provided to the side of the house and to the rear the enclosed, grassed garden has plenty of room for kids and pets to play.

There are several pedestrian routes that lead to the beautiful sweeping beach of Kilfinan Bay.

About ten minutes walk down from the Kilfinan Hotel, Community Centre and Church, the mill is settled along a private drive with an outstanding view towards Loch Fyne.
​
It is just a 20 minute walk down to Kilfinan Bay on the eastern side of Loch Fyne where I have seen seals and golden eagles and am told that otters can sometimes be seen.
​
Kames (7 miles) has a little village shop for everyday supplies and the nearby Kyles of Bute Golf Course offers something a bit different with its hilly moorland course and amazing views of Loch Fyne. Kames Hotel offers delicious food, as does Tide & Thyme which offers a delicious summer weekend rotating menu.

Tighnabruaigh offers a range of eateries and shops including the TeaRoom to the Tighnabruaigh Hotel

There is a small supermarket and bistro in Tighnabruaich (8 miles) and fishing in Loch Fyne itself or in the 3 well-stocked lochs in the hills above Tighnabruaich for brown or rainbow trout.

The gorgeous sandy beach at Kilbride Bay (9 miles), or Ostel Bay as it is known locally, is beautiful and gets busy on a hot summers day. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach from the parking area but once you arrive the wonderful views out towards the mountains of the Isle of Arran are sure to impress. It's worth the walk back to the parking area to call in at the Bothy cafe.

At Portavardie (8 miles) the stunning marina attracts sailing enthusiasts and as it also has a spa and leisure centre it offers something for everyone with an indoor swimming pool, outdoor infinity pool, gym, restaurants and cycle hire.
The Cowal Way can be joined from Portavardie, a 57 mile walking route that stretches all the way up the Cowal peninsula to Inveruglas on the west shore of Loch Lomond with some diverse landscapes and scenery to take in along the way.
View of Loch Fyne & Kilfinan Bay
Loch Fyne sits about ten minutes straight over the fields in front of the house. You can either walk over the fields and stiles (there is a gate next to the Old Smiddy) or you can walk through Farnoch Mill and Farm slightly up the hill. There are other entrances to walk to the beach through the Otter Estate and near the local Kilfinan Hotel.
Original Waterwheel and Mill
Originally built in the middle of the 18th Century and restored in the 1980's. The home has all the modern amenities including fibre optic Wi-Fi throughout.

The Kilfinan Burn (stream) runs alongside the house down to the beach with a large garden for children and pets to play securely (albeit with supervision and care)
Kilfinan Bay
A stunning beach accessible only by footpaths. you will often find you have this sweeping bay all to yourself apart from perhaps the occasional eider duck or the ever present oyster catcher bird.
